Any cleaner with ph above 10 etches marble which is why bleach ph 12 and ammonia ph 11 are not for cleaning marble. Because marble is porous and not as hard as some other natural stones like granite acid based cleaning products will damage marble and will likely produce headaches rather than results. Ammonia has a ph or roughly 11 5 12 therefore a safe marble cleaner needs to be below a ph of 11 5. On the alkali side the higher the ph number the stronger the alkali should be. After this research we determined that for a marble cleaner to be safe it s ph levels need to be between 7 11 5. Because of its acidic level caution and ventilation will be needed.

To be extra careful read the backside of the cleaner and see if it offers the ph level of the cleaner.
